Ok. Here's the thing: You should already know a fair bit about what I'm going to tell you. But if you don't, it's time to really listen and learn right now.

Crimes have evolved as one of the most popular and most important features in Torn. Become a master criminal and you will be feared and respected in the city. To become good at crimes, you have to do them consistently - and build them up. You can't rob a bank before you can pickpocket - and likewise, you need to start off as a small time criminal and build your way up.

The type of crimes you can do is all controlled by your nerve. As you complete crimes, your nerve stat will go down. However, over a longer period of time, your maximum nerve stat increases by successfully completing crimes.

The secret to getting high enough nerve to become a master criminal is to become good at a crime and then move on to something slightly more difficult; in small calculated increments. If you rush into more serious crime too quickly, you will end up in jail, reducing the crime experience you've built up.
